Advanced technological solutions for high-efficiency homes

We manufacture prefabricated houses in a factory in a controlled environment, using the latest technology and high-quality materials. This type of construction allows for a faster and more efficient construction process, resulting in a top-quality finished product of high quality, durability, energy values, and living comfort.

Wooden structures have become popular due to their sustainability, flexibility, and natural aesthetic appeal. Wood is a renewable material, and modern conservation and construction techniques allow it to be used for various types of buildings, from traditional houses to modern multi-story buildings and other commercial facilities.

At Radman Homes, we focus on the large-panel construction system, which is divided into a frame system and a CLT system.

Large-panel system

The large-panel prefabricated timber frame construction system uses large wooden panels instead of concrete or other materials, enabling sustainable and environmentally friendly construction. The panels are manufactured in a factory and then transported to the construction site, where they are assembled to create the structure of the house/building.

This type of construction is popular in Scandinavia and other parts of Europe due to the thermal insulation and environmental benefits that wood offers. It offers many of the same benefits as a large-panel concrete system, such as fast construction and precision, but with the added benefits that come with using wood.

The main characteristics of the large-panel prefabricated building system with wooden panels include:

Sustainable construction – wood is a renewable resource, and many manufacturers use certified wood that comes from sustainably managed forests.

Thermal insulation – wood panels provide excellent thermal insulation, which reduces heating and cooling costs.

Lightweight construction – wooden panels are lighter than concrete panels, which makes transportation and installation easier, and can reduce foundation costs.

Fast construction – like concrete panels, wood panels are quickly installed, reducing construction time.

Healthier indoor environment – wood helps regulate humidity and can contribute to a healthier indoor climate.

Seismic resistance – wood has a natural flexibility, which makes it resistant to earthquakes because it can absorb and transmit shocks without cracking.

Large panel frame system

The frame system actually represents the frame or skeleton of a house or other prefabricated building. It is made of wooden beams and columns and is carefully placed on the foundation according to the construction plans. The wooden frame provides structural support to the entire building. The pillars and ridges are arranged so that they can withstand the load of the roof, walls and other parts of the house or other structure.

Cross-laminated-Timber-CLT-construction

Large panel system made of CLT

The main characteristic of the CLT system is its layered construction. The wooden boards are placed crosswise, at right angles, glued together and placed under a press. The result is an extremely strong and stable panel. An additional major advantage is that CLT panels can be manufactured entirely in a factory and transported to the construction site completely finished and ready for installation.

Challenges and protection of wooden structures

Moisture resistance – wood is sensitive to moisture, which can cause rotting or deformation. Moisture protection includes the use of special coatings and properly designed foundations.

Fire protection – although wood burns, CLT and laminated constructions can withstand fire for longer than would be expected, because the burning of the surface layer creates an insulating layer of char that slows down further combustion.

Insect resistance – in certain climates it is necessary to use insecticidal coatings or treatments to prevent damage to the wood.
