KUUKS Thermo pine
KUUKS Thermo pine is a highly efficient solution for wooden facade cladding and terraces, produced using sustainable heat treatment technology.
KUUKS offers Thermo pine of classes AB and A, ensuring durability, aesthetic appeal, and lasting value — all without the use of chemicals.
Through a controlled thermal process, the wood structure is permanently changed to improve resistance to weathering, rot, insects and deformation, making KUUKS Thermo pine ideal for exterior construction.
Production process of KUUKS lining
1. Drying in a dryer
The boards are dried to reduce the moisture content to approximately 0–5%.
2. Thermal modification
The wood is heated to 180–215 °C in a kiln with controlled oxygen levels. This heat changes the cellular structure, reducing hygroscopicity and nutrient availability.
3. Steam treatment
During the process, steam is used to prevent the wood from cracking and stabilize its internal structure.
4. Controlled cooling and humidity balancing
The wood is gradually cooled and equilibrated to the target moisture level (around 4%).
5. Sorting and classification
Final inspection of flatness, surface quality and classification into class A or AB.

Weather resistance
Works in all climate conditions: UV, rain, frost, heat
Naturally rot-resistant
The modified cell structure prevents the growth of fungi.
Protection against insects and termites
It does not contain natural sugars that pests depend on.
Dimensional stability
Resistant to swelling, cracking or shrinkage over time.
100% chemical-free
Processed exclusively with heat and steam, it is therefore environmentally friendly and sustainable.
Tropical tree look
Dark, uniform color without dyeing or oil.
15-year durability guarantee
With proper installation and maintenance, however, experience shows that the lifespan is often 30+ years.
Application of KUUKS cladding
KUUKS Thermo pine for facades and terraces is designed for long-term outdoor use and requires minimal maintenance to maintain its performance and appearance.
With proper maintenance, the lifespan of wood cladding is over 30 years.
Recommended maintenance
First maintenance:
- Sunny sides (south/west): re-oil or re-coat after 5 years
- shaded/northern sides: first maintenance is only required after 8 years
Further maintenance:
- After the first treatment, check the condition and reapply oil or coating every 5–7 years (depending on climate and exposure).
- If left untreated, the wood will naturally take on a silver-gray patina over time, without affecting its structural durability.
General advice
For facade cladding:
- It is necessary to ensure adequate ventilation behind the cladding.
- Clean the surface occasionally with mild soap and water to remove dust or biological deposits.
For terraces (decking):
- it is necessary to regularly remove leaves and dirt
- avoid water retention by ensuring proper drainage
- After cleaning, oil should be applied to preserve the color and condition of the surface.
